At the latest conference of the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association (NOWA), Gary Lewis, of Bend, Oregon, was presented with several awards in the group’s Excellence in Craft contest.
In Hunting/Shooting, Lewis was awarded a 1st place award for Nine Three, published in Sports Afield. This category was sponsored by Leupold and Stevens and it featured a rifle that was once owned by Chub Eastman, also a member of NOWA. The article was published in the May/June 2016 issue of Sports Afield.
In Humor, Lewis won a 1st place for Good Vibrations, published in Oregon Hunter.
Lewis won 2nd place for Audio with a radio show aired November 18, 2016.
In the Excellence in Craft – Audio/Visual category, Frontier Unlimited, a TV show, was awarded 2nd and 3rd Place for two episodes.
And for the Book category, Fishing Central Oregon, 6th edition won a 2nd place award. Lewis is a columnist, TV host and author of 16 books. His articles appear in regional, national and international magazines.
The Northwest Outdoor Writers Association is a society of professional outdoor communicators who are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence.
